The inspiration for the house is a combination of modern and contemporary design. The modern elements of the house are evident in the clean lines, open plan layout, and use of natural materials. The courtyard design principle that the house was designed around creates a sense of enclosure and privacy. The house is surrounded by walls on three sides, and the fourth side is open to the patio and garden area which flows into the pool area. This creates a sense of being sheltered from the outside world, while still allowing for plenty of natural northern light and ventilation. The courtyard also serves as a focal point for the house. The living, dining, and kitchen areas all open onto the courtyard, which provides a central gathering space for the family and guests. The vision for the house is to create a space that is both modern and stylish, yet also comfortable and inviting. The open plan layout allows for easy flow between the living, dining, and kitchen areas, while the large windows bring in plenty of natural light. The exterior of the house is made of a combination of smooth plastered walls, concrete and composite wood, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The roof is a sloping, metal roof that gives the house a modern look. The interior of the house is open plan, with the living, dining and kitchen areas all flowing into each other. The kitchen is fitted with high-end appliances and there is a large island in the middle of the room. The living area is spacious and there is a fireplace for those cold winter evenings. The dining area can seat up to 10 people. There are four bedrooms in the house, all of which are spacious and well-appointed. Each bedroom has its own en-suite as well. The spacious master bedroom has its own full en-suite bathroom and ample cupboard space. The first floor of the house comprises bedrooms and a lovely private lounge with seating space to serve as a study nook.
